The official trailer for Tracy Oliver’s comedy series Harlemwhich debuts on Prime Video December 3, has dropped!

Produced by Amazon Studios and Universal Televison, Harlem is about a stylish and ambitious group of girlfriends living in New York’s famous Harlem. Oliver, whose movie Girls Trip was the first film written by a Black woman to gross over $100 million, created, wrote, and executive produced the series.

Starring Megan Good, Grace Byers, Shoniqua Shandai, and Jerrie Johnson, Harlem follows in the footsteps of iconic shows like Girlfriends and Sex and the City by depicting women navigating their maturing careers and relationships as they leave their 20s behind and embrace their 30s.

As Good’s character Camille is heard saying in the trailer, “A strong Black woman is resilient, independent, and capable.” The characters of the show reflect this sentiment: Camille is an anthropology professor at Columbia; Johnson’s character Tye is a successful queer dating app creator; Quinn, played by Byers is a trust fund fashion designer; and Shandai portrays Angie, a confident and filter free singer and actress.

Along with Oliver, Pharrell Williams, Mimi Valdés, Amy Poehler, and Kim Lessing will serve as executive producers. Hollywood veterans Whoopi Goldberg and Jasmine Guy appear as guest stars.
