The doors to Bayside High School are open again as Peacock gears up for the season two premiere of Saved by the Bell. The reboot of the classic ’90s sitcom is returning to screens later this month and will follow the new generation of Bayside students after their school gets picked to host a Southern California spirit competition.
The sophomore season will show Daisy, played by Haskiri Velazquez, try to avoid school drama until she meets a cute new student who is elected student council Vice President. Alycia Pascual-Peña’s character Aisha attempts to find a new outlet after football is cancelled while DeVante, portrayed by Dexter Darden, finds love. Jamie and Lexie, played by Belmont Cameli and Josie Totah, respectively, hit a bump in their relationship after Jamie’s parents divorce. Mac, the son of Zack and Kelly Morris, throws himself into the school spirit competition as a way to step out from his father’s shadow.
Fans of the original incarnation of Saved by the Bell will be pleased to hear that OG cast members Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater), Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle), Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski), Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris), and Elizabeth Berkeley (Jessie Spano) will all be featured in the second season. This season will also play tribute to the late Dustin Diamond who played Screech Powers. Diamond passed away from cancer in February.
