Holy sparkly circles! The new trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness gave us a whole lot!
The Marvel Studios sequel pushes its boundaries further than ever before as it “journeys into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.”
Directed by the great Sam Raimi, the new look at the upcoming chapter in the ever-expanding MCU saga unpacks a lot — but let’s start with seeing Xochitl Gomez in action as America Chavez aka Miss America! Livin’ for it.
On top of that, Elizabeth Olsen comes into fold in all her Scarlet Witch glory, calling Strange out saying “When you break the rules, you become the hero. I do it, I become the enemy.”
Could it be that the MCU is toppling the patriarchy?
Then the biggest gag is that we hear what seems to be Patrick Stewart‘s voice. Is this the entry of the X-Men into the MCU? Is Scarlet Witch about to “No more mutants” this bitch House of M-style?
And this is just the tip of the iceberg with what this trailer jammed into two minutes. The MCU is growing beyond belief and the masses are ready to eat it all up.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is written by Michael Waldron and also stars Michael Stühlbarg and Rachel McAdams. Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness debuts in theaters on May 6.
