Marilyn Monroe is an icon… too bad Hollywood didn’t treat her like one when she was alive.
From the look of the forthcoming Andrew Dominik-directed Blonde based on the novel by Joyce Carol Oates and starring Ana de Armas as the titular bombshell, this movie is gonna be a different kind of journey — and it looks sad if we are being honest.
In Oates’s book Blonde, the author reimagines the life of Marilyn Monroe, exploring the split between her public and private selves — so it’s fictional. Dominik adapted the screenplay for screen.
Blonde drops on the streamer September 28. The film also stars Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Xavier Samuel, Julianne Nicholson, Lily Fisher, Evan Williams, Toby Huss, David Warshofsky, Caspar Phillipson, Dan Butler, Sara Paxton, and Rebecca Wisocky.
Producers are Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Tracey Landon, and Scott Robertson. Christina Oh is Executive Producer.
