An Evening With Jon Batiste – 5 PM, December 13: In association with Americana Music Foundation, the Grammy Museum is thrilled to welcome seven-time Grammy, Emmy, and Academy Award–winning singer, songwriter, and composer Jon Batiste to the Clive Davis Theater for an evening of conversation and a special live performance celebrating his GRAMMY-nominated ninth studio album, Big Money. Batiste is nominated for three 2026 Grammy Awards on behalf of the project, including Best Americana Album, Best American Roots Performance, and Best American Roots Song.

What Is a Western? | Buck and the Preacher (1972), 1:30 PM, December 13: Part of the “What is a Western? Film Series”, Autry Museum in Griffith Park will screen Buck and the Preacher (1972). Directed by and starring Sidney Poitier alongside Harry Belafonte the film is a trailblazing Western that redefines the genre through a powerful Black perspective. Set in the post–Civil War era, the film follows two unlikely allies who protect formerly enslaved people from violent white bounty hunters. By centering Black protagonists and confronting racial injustice, Buck and the Preacher broke new ground in a genre long dominated by white narratives. With its mix of action, humor, and political edge, it challenged Western conventions and opened the door for more inclusive storytelling, making it a vital and enduring contribution to the genre. 35th Anniversary of Home Alone – 2 PM, December 13: Join actor Macaulay Culkin and director Chris Columbus in person to celebrate the holiday classic Home Alone. Culkin reached box-office stardom at age 9 with his instantly relatable performance as Kevin McCallister, a neglected son who finds himself the sole defender of his suburban home against a pair of bumbling but determined thieves (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern).
