Here Lies Love – February 11-March 22Here Lies Love is a groundbreaking musical about former First Lady of the Philippines Imelda Marcos and her family’s rise to power and subsequent fall at the hands of the Philippine People Power Revolution. Room By The Sea, a new play by John Guerra and directed by Brian Hashimoto – February 14 – February 21: A boy with a dream. A king with a secret. An island, shaped by grief and isolation. Takashi Murakami in Conversation with Clara Kim – 6:30 PM, February 12: Join MOCA for an exciting conversation between internationally renowned artist Takashi Murakami and MOCA Chief Curator & Director of Curatorial Affairs Clara Kim. Coinciding with the opening of the artist’s exhibition HARK BACK TO UKIYO-E: TRACING SUPERFLAT TO JAPONISME’S GENESIS at Perrotin Gallery, Los Angeles, the conversation will address Murakami’s long engagement with and theories on Japanese art, reflecting on the seminal exhibition Superflat, curated by Murakami, which was presented at MOCA in 2001.
