A Black Lady Sketch Show mastermind and co-host of the you-need-to-be-watching-it dog grooming competition series Haute Dog Robin Thede is about to serve us some undead realness with Killing It a zombie action-comedy movie she is developing with Jax Media and Amazon Studios.
Variety exclusively reported the news about the feature which Thede wrote and will also produce. Described as a cross between Shaun of the Dead and Girls Trip, the story revolves around a group of underachieving friends who live in Atlanta, which becomes overrun by zombies while the friends are taking part in Spelman College’s SpelHouse homecoming event, 10 years after they dropped out of the prestigious HBCU women’s school.
Thede will produce through her For Better or Words banner along with Jax Media’s Tony Hernandez, John Hodges and Brooke Posch.
The announcement of Thede’s new project comes on the eve of the season two premiere of A Black Lady Sketch Show on April 23.
