Ryan Coogler, Charles D. King, Shaka King, And Lil Rel Howery made incredible magic with the Oscar-winning pic Judas and the Black Messiah — so it only makes sense that they team together once again to create another narrative that speaks to our time with an untitled project shedding light on an American political insurrection.

The details about the project are being kept under wraps, but all we need to know to be intrigued is this amazing team and what they will do with political insurrection. Shaka King is set to direct and produce alongside Coogler’s Proximity label and Charles D. King’s MACRO and Howery. Shaka King will also be part of the writing team is currently  being assembled. Executive producers also include Proximity Media’s Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler as well as MACRO’s Poppy Hanks and Greta Fuentes; and Brandon Harris.

We love to see all of this excellence.

In case you missed it, Judas and the Black Messiah earned six Oscar nominations. Daniel Kaluuya took home the Oscar for playing Chairman Fred Hampton while H.E.R., D’Mile and Tiara Thomas snatched an Oscar for the original song “Fight for You”. Judas and the Black Messiah also made history marking the first time that an all-Black producing team was recognized in the Best Picture category.

Shaka King is repped by UTA, Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher; Coogler is repped by WME, M88, and Cohen & Gardner. Charles D. King is repped by Granderson Des Rochers. Lil Rel Howery is repped by UTA, Fourth Wall Management, and Cohen & Gardner.
