Today was Disney+ day and there was a bunch of news being churned out by the Mouse House including a boatload of Marvel Studios announcements. From She Hulk to Ms. Marvel to Moon Knight, we got a first look at the upcoming phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The one big piece of news was that the MCU is about to get their first Native American superhero series on Disney+ titled Echo starring Alaqua Cox.
The series is set to be spin-off of the forthcoming Hawkeye which features Cox alongside Jeremy Renner who reprises his role as the Avenger archer and Hailee Steinfeld who makes her MCU debut as Kate Bishop.
The series, which was started development earlier this year follows Maya Lopez (Cox) a deaf Native American superhero who has a talent to imitate any opponent’s fighting style. Maya runs in the same superhero circles as Daredevil, the Avengers and Moon Knight. The latter features Oscar Isaac in the role of the titular dream walking hero which the streamer gave us a first look at during Disney+ Day.
Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen are set to write and executive produce Echo.
