Yale in Hollywood has set its second global virtual film festival and will present resent its inaugural Visionary of the Year Award to Oscar nominated Minari director Lee Isaac Chung. The fest will kick off December 2 and continue through December 4.

The three day line up will include features and short films as well as an esteemed alumnae jury consisting of actress Sara Gilbert, producer Chris Lee, actress Delilah Napier and current Yale student filmmaker Kristina Yang.

In 2021, while Q&A events and the awards presentation will live stream free to the world, Yale in Hollywood Fest will  stream all the film presentations via YIHfest.com. 100% of the VOD revenue will be split evenly by the festival’s competitive prize winners.

On December 2, YIH Fest will open with S.J. Chiro’s SXSW’s feature Lane 1974 starring Sophia Mitri Schloss, a current first year student at Yale. On December 3, YIH Fest will screen three programs of short films: Musical and Comedy Shorts, Dramatic Shorts and Documentary & Experimental Panorama.

YIH Fest will close with a current Yale student production/documentary feature When the Music Stops about an American generation struggling for an identity and finding itself at a crossroad in 2020. YIH Fest’s Visionary of the Year winner Lee Isaac Chung will receive the award and speak live.

All aforementioned screening presentations will include Q&As with the filmmakers.

“I’m really thrilled to present this year’s festival line up as the acceptance rate is 88% of total submissions. This really speaks to the quality of films produced by the Yale community,” said Quentin Lee, festival director of YIH Fest.

Yale in Hollywood Fest showcases features and short films that include at least one Yale student, alumnus or current staff in the starring, producing, writing or directing chair. All events, including screenings and live streams, will be available directly from Yale in Hollywood Fest’s official website.
