A&E Network’s upcoming Grammy-winning Bobby Brown projects are exploring the past, present, and future of the popular culture icon’s famous life. Beginning on May 30, A&E Network will air a two-night TV event Biography: Bobby Brown. It will be followed by the premiere of the new docuseries Bobby Brown: Every Little Step.
Titled Biography: Bobby Brown, the two-night exclusive documentary gives fans an up-close and personal look at the multi-talented artist’s journey to superstardom and the fallout from his personal struggles with sobriety and the tragic deaths of Houston as well as his two children.
Brown, who is perhaps most famous for being one of the pioneers of the new jack swing genre as well as being a founding member of the R&B group New Edition, is also notorious for his behind-the-scenes behavior, drug abuse, and high profile marriage to Whitney Houston. After leaving New Edition, Brown’s solo career was met with both critical and commercial success with over 12 million in record sales, five gold singles, three No. 1 R&B hits.
The documentary includes interviews with Usher, Jermaine Dupri, Keith Sweat, Babyface, New Edition’s Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ronnie DeVoe, and Johnny Gill, as well as his family, friends, and those who experienced this journey with him. Over the course of two nights, viewers will get to hear never-before-heard stories as they reflect on Bobby’s life both on and off stage.
Bobby Brown: Every Little Step is a 12-episode docuseries that follows present-day Brown and his family as they embark on new adventures including his 2022 tour with New Edition. Brown’s current wife Alicia Etheredge-Brown their children will be featured as he juggles the tour, new music, and new business adventures.
With heart-wrenching moments including Brown visiting Houston’s and their daughter Bobbi Christina’s graves for the first time and a moving tribute for his deceased son Bobby Junior, A&E Networks is shining a light on the tumultuous and extraordinary life and career of an R&B legend.
Biography: Bobby Brown two-night event airs Monday, May 30 and Tuesday, May 31 at 8pm ET/PT. Bobby Brown: Every Little Step premieres Tuesday, May 31 at 10pm ET/PT with new episodes airing Tuesdays at 9pm ET/PT starting June 7.
