Bridgerton fans’ Valentine’s Day got a little bit sweeter yesterday after Netflix and Shondaland hosted a global event to prepare for the upcoming season two premiere.

The discussion introduced new characters and showcased never-before-seen clips of the series. The main event was the surprise reveal of the first teaser for the sophomore season.

The historical romance, which is based on the book series of the same name, became an instant fan favorite after its inaugural season. Julia Quinn, the author of all nine books of the installment, was joined by actors Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Bridgerton), Simone Ashley (Kate Sharma), Charithra Chandran (Edwina Sharma), and Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), and moderated by Ariana Romero.

Season two drops on Netflix on March 25 and tells the story of Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) quest for love. With the story now focusing on the eldest Bridgerton sibling’s romance journey, new characters Kate and Edwina are introduced into the series. Edwina begins as a love interest for Anthony but her sister, Kate, complicates the relationship in true Bridgerton fashion. Also during season two, viewers will watch the Featheringtons welcome the newest heir to their estate while Penelope continues to keep secrets.

The series also stars Adjoa Andoh, Harriet Cains, Shelley Conn, Martins Imhangbe, and Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown.

Bridgerton comes to Netflix from Shondaland and is executive produced by Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Chris Van Dusen. Van Dusen also serves as creator and showrunner.
