Aaron Pierre is going from being a Kryptonian soldier in Krypton to the world of vampire hunting in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming Blade movie starring Mahershala Ali as the titular daywalker.

Deadline reports that Pierre will join Ali along with Delroy Lindo. This installment of the MCU has set Bassam Tariq as the director and Stacy Osei-Kuffour as the screenwriter. Kevin Feige will produce, obvi.

We have no idea who Pierre will play nor do we know the plot of Blade. However, we heard Ali’s voice in the second post-credits scene of Eternals — so there’s that. Also, I wouldn’t be totally mad if this new iteration of Blade will continue the tradition of black latex, leather, and sexy rave music that was established in the early Blade films of the ’00s starring icon Wesley Snipes.

In any case, your guess as to what this movie is about is as good as ours. Feel free to fill us in.

Blade continues Pierre’s relationship with Disney as he will voice Mufasa in the Barry Jenkins-directed Lion King sequel. He also teamed with the Oscar-winning filmmaker for the Amazon series Underground Railroad and appeared in M. Night Shyamalan’s Old.
