Jessie and Tom’s love story continues to unfold with the arrival of season two of HBO Max’s Starstruck. The breakout comedy returns on March 24 and follows Jessie as she deals with her decision to stay in London for Tom.

Rose Matafeo created, co-wrote and stars in the series as Jessie, a twenty-something New Zealand expat in Hackney who drunkenly hooks up with a famous actor Tom Kapoor (Nikesh Patel).

A self-professed film nerd and rom-com lover, Matafeo has stated that her influences include Bridget Jones’s Diary and When Harry Met Sally. Matafeo’s writing successfully entered the cannon of her predecessors, with Starstruck currently holding a 100% Certified Fresh critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes

Season one ended with Jessie’s grand gesture to Tom and season two sees the couple adjusting to their new dynamic. Jessie, who used to work as a nanny/part-time movie theater employee, is plunged into Tom’s world of money and celebrity while also being forced to examine what direction her life is heading.

Emma Sidi, Joe Barnes, Al Roberts, Ambreen Razia, Alice Snedden, Lola-Rose Maxwell, Nic Sampson, Edward Easton, Parth Thakerar, Jordan Stephens, and Minnie Driver join Matafeo and Patel in the ensemble cast.

Starstruck is produced by Avalon and executive produced by Matafeo, Jon Thoday, Richard Allen-Turner, Rob Aslett, and Toby Welch, with Claire McCarthy serving as series producer.
