Before you watch this red band trailer, Annapurna Pictures wants you to know that the new trailer for Jerrod Carmichael‘s feature directorial debut On The Count Of Three may be triggering because of its content. They even said this in the press release they sent which is very mindful — but watch it below and give us your thoughts… actually since it is red band you can’t really embed it on the site so watch it at YouTube and then come back here so we can unpack it.

There is always a very fine line at the intersection of depression, suicide and humor. Yes, it shouldn’t be joked about but at the same time, people who are depressed use humor to cope — at least from my experience. Either way, when On The Count of Three comes out in theaters and on digital on May 13, people are gonna be talking!

As seen in the trailer for Carmichael’s VERY dark comedy we follow Val (Carmichael) and Kevin (Christopher Abbott), on the last day of their lives. They are joined by Tiffany Haddish, JB Smoove, and Henry Winkler. Carmichael directs a script written by Ari Katcher & Ryan Welch.

Producers are David Carrico, p.g.a., Adam Paulsen, p.g.a., Jerrod Carmichael, p.g.a., James Price, Ari Katcher, p.g.a., Tom Werner, and Jake Densen. Executive producers are Megan Ellison, Ryan Welch, Christopher Storer, Tyson Bidner, Pete Dakich, and Mike Roberts.
