Nico Santos has conquered the world of big box retail in Superstore and has navigated the terrain of Crazy Rich Asians with style. Now the actor is blasting off into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the newly announced cast member of James Gunn’s forthcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
He will join an impressive roster of new faces to the GotG posse including Will Poulter, Chuk Iwuj, Maria Bakalova, and Daniela Melchior. They will joinoriginal franchise stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Karen Gillan. The movie will also see the return of Sylvester Stallone and Elizabeth Debicki.
Deadline was first to report the news. No word yet on Santos’ role yet because — well — it’s Disney/Marvel. They love keeping things under wraps. Hell, we don’t even know what this installment of GotG is about. What we do know is that the ragtag group of space rebels can be seen in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, opening in theater July 8.
We also know they Santos recently got engaged during this year’s GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles in April.

Santos is best known for playing Mateo Oliver T’sien in Crazy Rich Asians and Mateo Liwanag in the Superstore, He recently lent his voice to the animated feature Wish Dragon and HBO Max animated series The Prince. He can be seen in the upcoming feature The Re-Education of Molly Singer as well as the Netflix rom-com Happiness for Beginners which also stars Ellie Kemper, Luke Grimes, and Blythe Danner.
