The new trailer for the queer horror pic They/Them (pronounced they-slash-them) has dropped and it LITERALLY puts slashes throughout — and not of the bloody kind, but of the punctuation kind. Although, based on the creepiness of it all, I am sure there will be bloody slashes in this horror pic set at an LGBTQIA+ conversion camp.
In the new Peacock/Blumhouse project, several queer and trans campers join Whistler for a week of programming intended to “help them find a new sense of freedom”. As the camp’s methods become increasingly more psychologically unsettling, the campers must work together to protect themselves. When a mysterious killer starts claiming victims, things get even more dangerous.
The film stars Theo Germaine (The Politician, Work In Progress), Quei Tann (How to Get Away with Murder, Dear White People), Austin Crute (Booksmart, Daybreak), Monique Kim (High Expectasians, Looks That Kill), Anna Lore (All American, Doom Patrol), Cooper Koch (Less Than Zero, A New York Christmas Wedding), Darwin del Fabro (Dangerous Liaisons, Novo Mundo), Kevin Bacon (You Should Have Left, City on a Hill), Anna Chlumsky (Inventing Anna, Veep), and Carrie Preston (Claws, Dr. Death).
They/Them debuts on Peacock August 5. John Logan (Skyfall, Gladiator, The Aviator) writes, directs and serves as executive producer alongside Kevin Bacon (You Should Have Left, City On a Hill), Scott Turner Schofield (Euphoria; The Craft: Legacy), Howie Young (Mission: Impossible III, Hit and Run), Jon Romano (Firestarter (2022), Vengeance). Jason Blum (Get Out, The Invisible Man) and Michael Aguilar (Penny Dreadful, Kidding) serve as producers.
