Emmy-winning I May Destroy You and future Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Queen Michaela Coel as well as John Turturro, and Paul Dano have joined the forthcoming Mr. and Mrs. Smith series at Amazon, Variety reports.
The trio join previously announced series leads Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, stepped in for the role after Phoebe Waller-Bridge bounced from the series. Details about the project as a whole are being kept under wraps including the guest star roles for Coel, Turturro, and Dano.
What we do know is that it follows John (Glover) and Jane (Erskine) as they are hired by a mysterious spy agency, venturing into espionage, marriage, and learning to intimately navigate both… and if you’ve seen the 2005 Mr. and Mrs. Smith feature starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, then you get the gist. And with a cast like this it is probably gonna be equally sexy and fun.
In addition to starring, Glover is billed as the co-creator and executive producer on the Amazon series with Francesca Sloane, who will serve as showrunner. New Regency’s Yariv Milchan and Michael Schaefer and Wells Street Films’ Jenny Robins will also executive produce.
