Hip hop icon Missy Elliott is set bring her style and voice to the Emmy-, GLAAD-, and NAACP Image Award-nominated Cartoon Network series, Craig of the Creek. The Cartoon Network also left the door open for Silk Sonic’s Anderson .Paak and his son Soul Rasheed left the door open as the pair will return to We Baby Bears.
Elliott will appear in the upcoming Craig of the Creek episode titled “The Jump Off,” where Craig issues a double dutch jump rope challenge to some Creek kids — but he doesn’t know how to double dutch! Elliot will voice 1989 double dutch champion Carla Frazier, a rival of Nicole, the previous double dutch queen and also Craig’s mother.
Craig of the Creek is consistently recognized for its authentic storytelling and representation of Black family life. Highlighted also by the diverse talent behind the scenes, the show has been praised for its inclusive storylines, relatable characters and accurate portrayal and normalization of Black culture. The series has garnered multiple award nominations since its 2018 premiere and received a Common Sense Seal for diversity in television. The Craig of the Creek universe also includes the preschool spinoff series, Jessica’s Big Little World and Craig of the Creek: The Movie,
.Paak and Rasheed will voice a crossover episode of We Baby Bears featuring everyone’s favorite witches, Susie, Alice, and Betsy from Summer Camp Island. The pair reprise their roles in season two as the Triple T Tigers, along with Willow Smith reprising her role as Unica.
In addition, it was announced that the iconic hip hop group De La Soul will return for a guest starring role in season eight of Teen Titans Go! scheduled to debut this fall while Zack Snyder will also make a guest appearance on an upcoming episode during the fall.The announcements was made at Comic-Con over the weekend.
