The RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise continues to grow as VH1 has renewed the tentpole reality competition and its soapy backstage aftershow RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked — and why wouldn’t they? Drag Race is nominated for 11 Emmy awards across the franchise this year.
The forthcoming 15th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, will introduce a new group of sickening queens in a season which includes the landmark 200th episode!
“When I hear season 15 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, I have to pinch myself – I just won’t tell you where,” said six-time Emmy-winning host and Executive Producer, RuPaul. “We never take for granted the opportunity we’ve been given to showcase drag excellence and tell authentic queer stories. Thank you to the fans, World of Wonder, VH1, our cast and crew, and most of all, our brave and beautiful queens.”
ICYMI: the season 14 grand finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race saw the final five queens, Angeria Paris VanMichaels, Bosco, Daya Betty, Lady Camden and Willow Pill go head-to-head for the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar.” Willow Pill was crowned winner and Kornbread was named “Miss Congeniality.” The season also garnered some viewership milestones including the premiere, which marked the show’s highest rated debut since 2018.
Also, I was in the audience in Vegas when Willow Pill was crowned. I also enjoyed her performance.
