Emmy-nominated Amber Ruffin Show writer and comedian Dewayne Perkins is set give us a Clue. He has boarded Fox’s upcoming animated series adaptation of the popular Hasbro board game as writer and executive producer alongside seasoned filmmaker Tim Story and Lynn Barrie of the Story Company.
Deadline reported the news and the project marks a reunion for Perkins and Story. Perkins appears in and co-wrote The Blackening with Tracy Oliver. Story directed the horror which will debut in September at the Toronto International Film Festival.
As for this upcoming series adaptation Clue, we have no idea what it’s about. True to the board game, it’s a mystery. However, Deadline reported that it encapsulates “the thrilling and suspenseful dynamics that have made Clue a global sensation for more than seven decades”.
Hasbro’s eOne and Fox Entertainment-owned Bento Box Entertainment, which will serve as the animation studio for Clue. eOne is also producing the live-action feature film adaptation of Clue for 20th Century Studios with James Bobin directing, Oren Uziel writing, and Ryan Reynolds starring with his company Maximum Effort Productions producing.
