  • 10th Annual Katipunan Poetry Slam – 6-11 pm, October 18:  For Filipinos, the modern day poetry slam is an echo of the balagtasan— a poetic, political debate. The Katipunan were the revolutionary group in the Philippines who fought for independence against Spanish colonization in the 1890s. The poetry  a platform for Filipino poets to channel the fighting spirit of our ancestors in this celebration of free speech, and celebration of us. The annual Katipunan Poetry Slam lineup includes emerging artists, published authors, and seasoned slam champions who are recognized both locally and nationally. Unidad Park & Community Garden, 1644 Beverly Boulevard LA.

  • Asian AF – 7pm, October 17: Established in 2016, ASIAN AF (Asian As F***) quickly cemented its status as a must-see comedy show in Los Angeles, New York, and beyond — spotlighting the hottest rising stars and powerhouse Asian American talent in improv, stand-up, sketch, characters, musical comedy, storytelling, and more.   • Aaron Chen – 7pm, October 13: Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Aaron has quickly climbed the ranks of the international comedy scene. Aaron made his mark on Australian comedy with his debut solo show at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in 2017 and since then has toured internationally in front of sold-out crowds.   • Marc Maron – Stand-Up Show – 7 pm, October 14: Fresh off the release of his documentary Are We Good?,  legendary comedian and podcaster Marc Maron comes to Largo with his sharp, unflinching stand-up.
