Cinema Sala, which gives shine to Filipino and Filipino American entertainment in Hollywood, has partnered with FilAm Creative, Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) and Diaspora to celebrate the release of the Filipino animated series Trese with a watch party on Twitter and a virtual Q&A with the show’s creators and cast on June 12 at 4pm PT/ 7pm ET which translates to 7am Manila time on June 13.

Trese is based on the award-winning Filipino horror/crime graphic novel by Budjette Tan and KaJO Baldisimo. The six episode series is currently on Netflix and fuses Philippine horror mythology with dark, graphic storytelling. The series team includes director-animator Jay Oliva, writer-producer Tanya Yuson, writers Mihk Vergara and Zig Marasigan, voice actors Liza Soberano, Shay Mitchell, Jon Jon Briones, Manny Jacinto, Dante Basco, Darren Criss, Lou Diamond Phillips and Nicole Scherzinger.

Set in Manila where the mythical creatures of Philippine folklore live in hiding amongst humans, the series follows titular detective Alexandra Trese (Mitchell/Soberano) who finds herself going head to head with a criminal underworld composed of malevolent supernatural beings.

The #TreseWatchParty will be followed by a Q&A moderated by filmmaker Marie Jamora with Liza Soberano, Jay Oliva, Tanya Yuson, Mihk Vergara, Zig Marasigan along with some surprise guests!
