So Denzel Washington, Michael B. Jordan and Chanté Adams are out here trying to make us cry with the new trailer for A Journal For Jordan, aren’t they?
Columbia Pictures released the first trailer for the romantic drama directed by Washington and written by Virgil Williams, A Journal For Jordan (I’m guessing the title coincidentally shares the same name as the star) is based on the true story of Sergeant Charles Monroe King (Jordan), a soldier deployed to Iraq who begins to keep a journal of love and advice for his infant son. Back at home, senior New York Times editor Dana Canedy (Chanté Adams) revisits the story of her unlikely, life-altering relationship with King and his enduring devotion to her and their child. A sweeping account of a once-in-a-lifetime love, the film is a powerful reminder of the importance of family and the all-too-human cost of war.
A Journal For Jordan is based on the book by Dana Canedy. Washington and Jordan produce the film alongside Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch. Executive producers are Molly Allen, David Bloomfield, Aaron L. Gilbert, Jason Cloth and Richard McConnell.
A Journal For Jordan opens in Los Angeles and New York on December 10 and is set for a wide release December 22. Watch the trailer above.
