Marvin Lemus and Linda Yvette Chávez and gave us a lot when they introduced us to the Morales cousins with the first season of Gentefied — and they left us wanting more. Enter: the new trailer for season 2, which debuts on the streamer November 10.
Produced by America Ferrera we meet back up with the cousins as they fight alongside Pop as he fights battle to stay in the country. All the while, they deal with a lot including new loves, new babies, estranged fathers, and of course, tracking down Bad Bunny at a Halloween party. They’ll fight to thrive, but along the way will question where they truly belong in a world made up of borders, family separation, and the potential loss of their beloved taco shop, Mama Fina’s.
Gentefied stars Joaquín Cosío, J.J. Soria, Karrie Martin Lachney, and Carlos Santos and executive produced by Lemus, Chávez, Charles D. King and Marta Fernandez of MACRO, Ferrera of Take Fountain, Aaliyah Williams, Kim Roth, and Teri Weinberg of Yellow Brick Road.
In the first season of the Netfix dramedy, Lemus and Chavez created a love letter to the Latinx and Boyle Heights communities as it explores the toll of family separation, Brown love and joy in the face of adversity, fathers and fatherhood, the pursuit of the American Dream, and love that crosses borders and time.
