Just when you thought she was gone, she is back to give us a “Hallelujer!” or two.

Netflix has dropped a trailer for Tyler Perry’s A Madea Homecoming and the new movie hitting the streamer on February 25 features actor Brandon Black playing the first openly gay character in the history of Madea movies.

A Madea Homecoming follows the titular Madea (Perry), who brings together the family to celebrate her great-grandson, Tim’s (Black), college graduation. Tim is the Valedictorian of his graduating class and is planning on coming out to his great-grandmother and family at the celebration.

Black starred as Kordell Washington across all four seasons of Justin Simien’s critically-acclaimed Netflix series, Dear White People. He also appeared in Shameless, You’re The Worst, 
13 Reasons Why, Insecure, and K.C. Undercover.

Perry directed and wrote A Madea Homecoming. The cast also includes Cassi Davis Patton, David Mann, Tamela Mann, Gabrielle Dennis, Brendan O’Carroll, and Isha Blaaker.
