The García family is back, this time joining the HBO Max’s lineup of reboots and revivals. The official trailer for The Garcías just dropped giving us a sneak peek of what is to come for the series.
A continuation of the 2000s sitcom The Brothers García, The Garcías follows the family on their summer vacation at their beach house in Mexico. All six main family members are returning as well as a new generation of Garcías.
Alvin Alvarez, Bobby Gonzalez, Jeffrey Licon, and Vaneza Pitynski reprise their roles as siblings Larry, George, Carlos, and Lorena, respectively. Carlos Lacámara and Ada Maris also return as their parents, Ray and Sonia.
The original series, which aired on Nickelodeon, made history as the first English-language sitcom to have an all Latino cast and creative team. While The Brothers García centered on eleven-year-old Larry as he grew up with two older brothers and a twin sister, The Garcías adds an additional generation now that the siblings are all grown up.
New cast members are Oliver Alexander as Max García; Nitzia Chama as Ana García; Paul Rodriguez, Jr. as Julian Ramirez; Maeve Garay as Victoria García; Elsha Kim as Yunjin Huh García; Ayva Severy as Andrea Huh García; and Trinity Jo-Li Bliss as Alexa Huh García.
Jeff Valdez, the creator of both The Brothers García and The Garcías, returns as showrunner and executive producer. Sol Trujillo joins Valdez as executive producer under their New Cadence Productions banner.
The Garcías will be available to stream on HBOMax starting April 14.
