Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi) fans can add another project to look forward to from the Grammy-award winning musician. In addition to the recent announcement of his directorial debut, he’s been cast in John Woo’s upcoming action-thriller Silent Night.

Taking on the role of Detective Dennis Vassel, Mescudi joins actors Catalina Sandino Moreno, Harold Torres, and Joel Kinnaman in the Capstone Studios production. Kinnaman plays Godlock, a father seeking to avenge his young son who died on Christmas Eve after being caught in the crossfire of gang violence. Undeterred by a near-death experience while on his mission, Godlock vows to get revenge by any means necessary.

Mescudi’s resume in Hollywood continues to grow, in addition to his role in Silent Night he recently starred in the Oscar-nominated Netflix film Don’t Look Up and released a documentary on Amazon Prime Video titled A Man Named Scott. He also launched his production company MAD SOLAR in 2021.

Robert Lynn wrote the screenplay for Silent Night with Christian Mercuri producing for Capstone. Also producing are Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee for Thunder Road, and Lori Tilkin for A Better Tomorrow Films. Executive producers include Dave Haring, Ruzanna Kegeyan, and Joe Gatta of Capstone with Mike Gabrawy and Will Flynn for Thunder Road.

Production for Silent Night is currently underway in Mexico City.
