The leather vest. The graphic tee. The hair. The use of Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine” — Marvel Studios FINALLY dropped a new trailer for the highly anticipated Thor: Love and Thunder and it is a vibe that lives at the intersection hair bands, glam rock, cosmic B movies and the MCU and we are living.

Directed by Taika Waititi, the first look at the new installment of the Thor 2.0 narrative in the MCU looks like its gonna take a way existential approach as Thor (Chris Hemsworth) tries find himself. Meanwhile, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) is serving executive realness as the new king of Asgard and, as we knew all along, Jane (Natalie Portman) is back and all swole whilst wielding Mjolnir. A lot of clues as to what is going to happen in the new movie were sprinkled throughout but, as per usual, Marvel Studios is being a tease and not telling us the whole story. My main guess is that Jane is part of another multiverse — but I’ll let you come up with your own theories.

Here’s the official synopsis of Thor: Love and Thunder out in theaters July 8:

The film finds Thor (Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Thompson), Korg (Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
