Idris Elba and his production company Green Door Pictures are prepping to release their first project with Apple TV+. Titled Hijack, the series is a thriller told in real-time, set aboard a hijacked airplane. The limited series is part of the Elba’s first-look deal with Apple TV+.

Elba plays Sam Nelson, a successful negotiator in the business world who takes it upon himself to use his acumen to save his fellow passengers. Nelson’s high-risk tendencies make the mission particularly reckless. The story is told within the plane’s seven-hour journey to London while authorities attempt to find answers on the ground.

George Kay, who wrote the Netflix series Lupin, is penning Hijack. BAFTA-winning director Jim Field Smith has also signed onto the project. Elba, Kay, and Smith will executive produce as well as Jamie Laurenson and Jakan Kousetta of 60Forty Films.
