Known for her roles in Nine Perfect Strangers, Little Fires Everywhere, The Chi and Hunters, Tiffany Boone is staying booked and busy as she is set to star opposite André Holland in the six-episdoe limited series The Big Cigar at Apple TV+.
Based on a Playboy article by Joshuah Bearman, The Big Cigar tells the true story of how Black Panther leader Huey P. Newton (Holland) relied on his friend and Easy Rider producer Bert Schneider to elude a nationwide manhunt and escape to Cuba while being pursued into exile by the FBI. Boone is set to star as Gwen Fontaine, Newton’s girlfriend.
Sherman Barrois (Claws) is set to serve as showrunner and executive producer. Don Cheadle will direct and executive produce the first two episodes. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television. Jim Hecht (Winning Time) wrote the series and will also executive produce along with Bearman, Joshua Davis and Arthur Spector (Little America), through their production company Epic, a division of Vox Media Studios. Barrios has an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television with her Folding Chair Productions banner.
