Filmmakers Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert — affectionately known as Daniels — are having quite a year. Their wild multiverse mindfuck film, Everything Everywhere All At Once is a massive critical and box office success since it premiered at SXSW earlier this year. Most recently, they, along with their producing partner Jonathan Wang, inked am exclusive five-year deal with universal Pictures.  On top of that, they recently announced that they are teaming with Sundance Collab to kick off the “fall semester” with a live masterclass on August 17 from 2-5pm PT.

As Sundance Institute alums themselves, Daniels will pay it forward and discuss the sound and music of Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Daniels’ first feature film, Swiss Army Man, was born out of the Sundance Institute’s Screenwriters and Directors Labs in 2014 and went on the show in the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and won the Directing Award in the U.S. Dramatic competition.

Sundance Collab provides an online learning platform and community space for creators from all over the world to enter the Sundance ecosystem for free (or as little as $10/month for a Creator+ membership). Past guest instructors have included Ava DuVernay, The Duplass Brothers, Rodrigo Prieto, and Chloe Zhao.
